What it is

Poofy is an AI build companion for Minecraft. Kids ages 6–14 describe what they imagine — in Hebrew or English, typed or spoken — and watch it appear in their own world, then refine it with follow-up prompts.

Why it matters

It turns Minecraft screen time from consuming into creating. The describe–look–refine loop is the same skill adults now call vibe coding.

Origin story

Founder Liron Sher built Poofy for his son Leo, 10, who serves as chief product officer and toughest tester.

Under the hood

A scene-graph engine over Google's Gemma and Gemini models turns language into block-accurate structures. Works with Minecraft Java and Bedrock, including cloud-hosted worlds and phone-based control for kids without a gaming PC.

Safety

No open-ended chat — Poofy builds, it isn't a chatbot friend. Parents get a portal with full history, controls, and COPPA-minded consent, data export, and deletion.

Questions journalists ask

Is Poofy affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft?

No. Poofy is an independent companion app. Kids need their own copy of Minecraft, and Poofy follows the Minecraft EULA — we charge for our AI service, not for Minecraft content.

Is it safe to put AI in front of kids?

Poofy is not an open-ended chatbot: prompts are filtered in both directions and the AI only builds. Parents see full history in the parent portal and control the account from their phone.

What does it run on?

A Windows desktop app (Mac coming), working with Minecraft Java and Bedrock. Cloud worlds mean friends can join without server setup, and kids without a gaming PC can build from a phone.

Liron Sher, an Israeli software founder, and his son Leo. Built at home, tested on real kids.
